Barack Obama vs. John McCain on the arts

Here's a Salt Lake Tribune article comparing McCain and Obama's arts policies, positions and records. What you'll discover when you read it is a striking contrast: McCain supports arts education, Obama supports the arts.

Just to compare their records:
- Obama has met with Americans for the Arts (the leading arts advocacy organization in the nation) to discuss Arts policy issues. John McCain has not.
-Obama has published policy proposals on the arts and arts education. John McCain has not.

- Obama has delivered a statement supporting Federal funding for the arts. John McCain has not.

- The Democratic Party's national platform includes language supporting the arts. The Republican party's does not.

- Barack Obama has a voting record that supports the arts. John McCain has voted repeatedly to cut funding and/or eliminate funding for the arts.

If you're an artist, the contrast is clear. Barack Obama supports the arts, John McCain does not.
